Cafec Brewing Gear Direct From JapanAlec Maroush
We are thrilled to announce that Cafec brewing gear and filters papers are now available in Australia.
CAFEC is the creation of Sanyo Sangyo. Sanyo Sangyo is the Japanese pioneer in filter paper manufacturing who developed the world’s first cone shaped filter paper for brewing coffee. Cafec has an extensive range of coffee brewing gear including the flower dripper, their renowned deep dripper, hand made stainless steel Tsubame kettle and hand grinder + much more.
CAFEC’s unrivalled experience and record for constant innovation and development is exactly the world class benchmark we have the opportunity to partner with. It’s exciting and reassuring to work with such high quality and precise filter papers and drippers that go beyond their beauty and perform to such incredibly high standards. All of Cafec’s unique brewing gear have been designed and produced in Japan.
The Flower Dripper
Designed to bring out the best in your coffee. The unique Cafec Flower Coffee Dripper has flower ribs inside made by gouging out the dripper wall. This allows an air layer between the filter paper and dripper allowing the coffee grinds to expand. Made from heavy duty porcelain; the Flower Dripper features one large hole in the bottom to provide consistent water flow through the coffee. Each dripper includes a measuring spoon. The drippers are available in plastic and porcelain in 2 sizes (1-2 cups & 2-4 cups) and 5 colours: Pink, Blue, White, Yellow, Green.
The Deep Dripper
“The time for the water to pass through the coffee grounds is longer, extracting more flavours from the coffee” – this is the theory of deep filtering which can only be achieved with a Nel dripper. Cafec have achieved this with the Deep Dripper due to the 45° bottom angle and hexagon shape. Cafec believe this to be the best dripper for ultimate flavour coffee. The dot ribs provide an air layer that allows the coffee grinds to expand. The unique Cafec Deep Dripper is designed to prepare 3-7 cups. The Deep Drippers are available in plastic and porcelain and include a measuring spoon.
The range of Cafec beaker servers are made of high quality heat-resistant glass and feature a highly visible scale marks by cups and millilitres. The beaker server is perfect for preparing pour over filter coffee with the flower or deep dripper. The handle makes the server easy to use and pour with.
The Tsubame Series
Tsubame Hand Grinder
The Cafec Tsubame Coffee Hand Grinder is compact, durable, consistent and easy to use. It features ceramic burrs and a rubber grip making it easy to handle. Thanks to the ceramic burrs, the coffee grounds will have no odour and won’t transfer heat and shave the coffee beans. The grinder has a 15g capacity and easy to disassemble and clean.
The Tsubame Kettle is hand-made one by one in Tsubame city, Niigata which is famous for high-quality stainless steel manufacturing. Its stainless body is highly resistant to corrosion. The Tsubame Kettle features a thin 6mm diameter spout to provide more control and steady pouring. The kettle can be heated both on an open flame and on an induction top.

Abaca Filter Paper
Made by the non-wood material ABACA (Manila hemp) and wood-pulp based on a forestation project. The ABACA filter paper is eco-friendly, has good air and liquid permeability, toughness, and elasticity. Cafec produce this filter paper using a special technique to incorporate a 2-side crepe feature onto paper. This allows a smooth water flow and less chances of blockage during coffee brewing.
Traditional Filter Paper
Filter paper made of refined pulp. These brew filters are refined to remove the brown color. It keeps the original flavor of the coffee grounds and makes a very robust pour over drip coffee. No dyes or chemicals are used in these paper filters. All of Cafec’s paper filters are completely biodegradable.
Natural Filter Paper
The natural filter papers are perfect for those that prefer a natural taste. Cafec have developed these filter papers with the perfect amount of tiny crinkles on both sides of the paper. This produces the smoothest, sediment free coffee and allows water to get through the dripper much faster than conventional filter paper.
